All developers – entrepreneurs, startups and students were invited to apply to the MONICA hackathons which took place during 2018. Apart from €5000 in prize money, the winners of each hackathon enter into a Business Growth Programme with the possibility to integrate and test the prototype at one of the MONICA pilot sites during 2019.
Enhanced user experience and engagement at outdoor city events
The challenge was to create innovative applications on user engagement and enhanced user experience at large, outdoor events.
Timing of the hackathons:
- 24th-26th August 2018, Roskilde, Denmark: hackathon on audience engagement and experience at open-air music events – Completed
- 26th-28th October 2018, Leeds, UK: hackathon on fan engagement and experience at large-scale sports events – Completed
- 9th-11th November 2018, Torino, Italy: enhance event goers’ engagement and experience of nightlife in urban space – Completed
Business Growth Programme
The winners of the hackathons receive a customised Business Growth Programme to further develop and brand their winning solutions.
